Our unique building

Restored and reopened in 2006.

Buxton College of Further Education is part of the University of Derby and is based at the Devonshire Campus in Buxton. This means that you can complete your college course and then move onto a university degree, all under one roof.

Top class facilities in a unique building

Opened in February 2006 by HRH The Prince of Wales, this unique campus was a £23m restoration project. You get top class modern facilities within a really special building with its own fascinating history. Take a look at our virtual tours of the restaurant, salons, spa and kitchens.

A lively town

Buxton is a historic spa town rich in culture and atmosphere, which is visited by tourists from all over the world. The Spa town is in the middle of the Peak District countryside. There is wasy access to Manchester, Stockport and Derby so it's the perfect place to study.

So there's always lots going on, including events like Buxton Festival and Buxton Fringe Festival.

Get out and about

Lying on the edge of the Peak District National Park, Buxton is surrounded by over 500 square miles of breathtaking countryside. You can try out activities like rock climbing, potholing, watersports, paragliding and horse riding. Or maybe you'll just want to stick to cycling or walking! There's also some great places to visit nearby, including Alton Towers, Chatsworth House and the caves in Castleton.
