You'll be choosing students to represent you at meetings so that all the views of your group are heard by those who can make changes.

You'll be electing a Course Rep for your group at the beginning of your course. Your Course Rep will meet with your group and get all of your views to take to meetings with the Curriculum Team. Your Head of Division (see Management Team) will be chairing these meetings and your Curriculum Co-ordinators will be there to hear and respond to your experiences. It's a good place for you to discuss how we can work together to improve your experience at the College and on your course.

Some of the views discussed at this meeting will be taken to the FE STARs Committee. Your Further Education Student Academic Representative (FE STAR) will decide with your Course Reps what key issues to take to the Committee. This Committee meets once each month on Wednesday afternoons; it's chaired by one of the students and others present are all the Curriculum Area FE STARs, other members of your Students Union and members of your College Management Team.

Being a Course Rep or FE STAR is an important role but also an enjoyable one as you'll be at the heart of decision making about your College. You receive training and support and will get a chance to develop a whole new set of skills during your year.

Buxton College students also have an FE rep on the Buxton Campus Committee. Look out for voting time and why not put yourself forward. You can contact them on fe.buxton@udsu.co.uk.
