Assessments

Completing all your assessments on time is the key to your overall success. Attending every lesson and keeping all your notes and information will really help you when you come to doing assessments. If you need more support with your assessments then ask your teachers or tutor.
Please submit your assignments into the Faculty Desk DO 117

Deadlines

We want you to keep on track with your studies so that you progress steadily in your course. You'll be given an assignment submission schedule telling you when all your assessments have to be handed in. Your assessment deadlines should be clearly set out in each of your classes at the start of term and will also be in your course handbook, available through UDo. If you do not hand in your assignment by the due date your work might not be marked or you could be missing an opportunity to upgrade your work.

Exams

You'll find out at the beginning of your course whether you have exams as part of the assessment. There are exams for the Functional Skills qualifications. Please make sure you have full information about where and when your exams take place and be on time. The Awarding Body regulations will be displayed in the exam room. It is an offence to have your mobile phone switched on in an exam room. Exams can be a bit scary so you'll have some practice and exam preparation in your lessons.  Have a look on the BBC website for advice on handling exam stress.

Results

You'll have regular discussions about your progress with your tutor or your assessor. When you've achieved your qualification, your certificates will be posted to you as soon as we receive them from the awarding body. Please make sure that you keep your certificates in a very safe place as you'll need this for future employment and study.
