Study Outdoor Sport at our 58-acre Outdoor Pursuits Centre, in the heart of the Peak District.
Oaklands Manor in Buxton will provide you with a fantastic outdoor sport facility, really bringing your learning to life.
With 58-acres of mixed woodlands, a 30 foot high climbing wall, a complex high ropes course including a 'leap of faith', and three low rope courses, you'll have an excellent landscape to study outdoor sport as well and hone your problem solving skills.
Our Buxton Campus is located in the heart of the Peak District National Park - what better place to turn your passion for the outdoors into a great career.
You'll be taught by qualified teachers with lots of enthusiasm and experience so you can be sure what you'll be learning will be relevant and they're really friendly and supportive too. These are really practically based courses where you'll learn or improve your skills in mountaineering, canoeing and climbing and lots more.
Our Sports Hall and Gym will give you an opportunity to focus your Indoor sports, and you'll gain valuable experience by work placements and our links with the industry including Buxton Football Club, and Buxton Rugby Club.
The best for you
We have excellent contacts which means that you'll be able to go on valuable work placements as part of your course to build up your experience and really put the theory you've learned into practice. You can also take some extra short courses such as first aid and coaching certificates which potential employers really like.
You'll go on fieldtrips
You'll have the opportunity to put your canoeing or climbing skills to the test for real as we take you to some great places in and around the Peak District to practice and learn more.

You can move on to university afterwards
You'll have the option afterwards to move on to university to improve your career prospects with a degree.
And you'll get a bursary of £1000 if you were a student at Buxton College and choose to study at the University of Derby.
