The Head of Buxton College, Mary Blauciak, spoke at the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) East Midlands Open Dinner on May 22

The event, which was this year held at the Buxton Dome, was the first Buxton Open Dinner network event, and brought together RSA Fellows, their friends and colleagues to debate and discuss key issues linked to RSA programmes.

East Midlands RSA Chair, Richard Lindley, launched the Buxton Open Dinner, welcoming Fellows to the Dome building who then briefly toured the building before a reception on the balconies.

Fifty guests, 16 governors and head teachers, a run of professors, auditors and award body team made for a highly focused examination of teaching at all levels.

Buxton College's Professional Cookery and Hospitality students prepared and served dinner for the guests.

The RSA states: "The University of Derby Buxton and its Further Education arm, Buxton College have achieved a reputation for vocational excellence in spa tourism and catering, they are at one with their location and employability sector."
