Tell me about the course in general
The course is designed to train you in the main areas of motor vehicles, electrical systems and mechanical systems. This
excellent all round training widens your knowledge and will make you more employable.
You'll work in the motor vehicle industry, but have days off work so you can attend College.
You will take these units:
• Contribute to Workplace Good Housekeeping
• Ensure Your own Actions Reduce Risks to Health and Safety.
• Maintain Positive Working Relationships
• Routine Vehicle Maintenance
• Remove and Replace Engine Units and Components
• Remove and Replace Electrical Auxiliary Units and Components
• Remove and Replace Vehicle Chassis Units and Components.
What qualifications will I get?
NVQ Level 2 Motor Vehicle, Functional Skills qualifications and technical certificates, plus apprenticeship certificates in Motor Vehicle.
What can I go on to next?
You can move on to the Advanced Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) or apply for supervisory roles in the motor vehicle industry.
How you'll learn
The course is designed to train Learners in the main areas of M.V./Electrical systems/Mechanical Systems. This excellent all round training makes learners more employable and widens knowledge for future supervisory opportunities.
How will I be assessed?
You'll take practical assessments throughout your training. Question and answers are used to test your knowledge during assessments. You also need to pass a computer based (GOLA) multiple choice test. And you will put together a portfolio of evidence which will be assessed.

12-15 months, depending on your age and ability.
