- You'll be assessed at your workplace, you need to prepare for and attend these assessment visits and any other appointments.
Tell me about the course in general
Your time will be divided between your workplace and the College. Your employer will work in partnership with us
to deliver your training programme. While you're in College you will take part in practical skills sessions, portfolio building and theory and Functional Skills sessions.
You will also have the opportunity to gain extra skills to support you in your work.
You'll learn some of your theory using online study resources.
You will choose three out of eight modules, which means that you can tailor the course to fit your interests and career.
Your College day is generally from 9.30am until 4.30pm.
You may need to pay for specialist materials associated with this course.
In College you will work alongside others as part of a team and work in The Dome, our
fine dining restaurant.

What qualifications will I get?
NVQ Level 3 in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership, level 3 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles, plus Key Skills qualifications in Maths and English.
What can I go on to next?
You will be able to apply for supervisory or trainee management jobs or move on to a foundation degree here at the University of Derby Buxton.
How will I be assessed?
Your progress and achievements will be assessed continually throughout the course in different ways, including observation of skills, practical and written assignments and projects.

Ideally, we'd also like you to have GCSE Maths and English at grades A* - C.
