Tell me about the course in general
During this excellent training programme you will develop a range of food preparation and cooking skills.
While you're in College you will take part in practical skills sessions, portfolio building and theory and IT sessions. You'll work alongside others as part of a team.
This course is suitable for students working in establishments with limited menus that do not give them the chance to develop the full range of skills required for the Professional Cookery qaulifications.
You'll spend four or five days in work and one in College.
You may need to pay for specialsit materials associated with this course.
What qualifications will I get?
NVQ Level 2 in Food Production and Cooking, Certificate in Hospitality and Catering principles, plus Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English.
What can I go on to next?
You can go on to the Advanced Apprenticeship in Professional Cookery afterwards.
How will I be assessed?
You'll be assessed while carrying out tasks in College and in your workplace, as well as through your portfolio and a question and answer session.
