» Students aged 16 - 18

Full time UK and EU students

Your course will be free of charge, so you won't have to pay your tuition, registration, exam and certification fees.

However, you may have to pay for specialist equipment or materials that aren't included in the course fees, and for trips and visits. And if you decide to take extra qualifications you may need to pay the fees for these courses.

If you fail your exams you'll be able to re-sit the exam once free of charge. However, if you need to take it again you'll need to pay the exam fees.

Full time overseas students

Your course fees for will be confirmed on application. You'll also need to pay your registration and exam fees.

» Students 19 years and over

UK and EU students

If you're aged between 19 and 23 and...

• enrolling on your first entry or level 1 qualification with the intention to progress to a level 2 programme, your course is free.
• enrolling on your first full level 2 qualification, your course is free.

If you're aged between 19 and 24 and enrolling for your first full level 3 qualification, your course is free.

If you are aged 24 and over you can apply for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan to support the cost of your course.

If you are over 19 and enrolling on one of the following courses; Certificate in Adult Literacy or Numeracy at Entry Level, functional Skills English or Maths at any level, GCSE English or Maths, English or Maths at pre-entry or entry level, your course is free.

If you receive Employment Support Allowance (ESA) (work related activity group), your course is free.

If you're in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance, your course is free.

If you're unemployed (or working less than 16 hours per week), receiving benefit and need to improve your vocational skills in order to find work, your course is free.

» Skills Funding Agency (SFA) funded students studying full or part time courses

You may not be charged your tuition fees - this is known as fee remission. However, you will need to pay your registration, certification and exam fees when you enrol.

You may be eligible for fee remission if:

• You receive Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance in the Work Related Activity Group (ESA (WRAG)).
• You're studying Adult Basic Skills or Functional Skills qualifications (excluding English for Speakers of Other Languages) from entry level to level 2.
• You'll be studying an entry or level 1 qualification and don't already have a full level 2 qualification or higher level qualification.
• You'll be studying your first full level 2 qualification and don't already have a higher level qualification.
• You're under 24 and will be studying your first level 3 qualification and don't already have a higher level qualification.
• You'll be studying your first level 3 qualification and don't already have a level 2 or higher qualification. 
• You'll be studying your first full level 3 qualification after leaving the British Armed Forces within the past 10 years, having completed four or more years of service, or having been medically discharged, due to an injury in active service, after completing basic training.

» Studying for additional qualifications

If you want to study one of these courses as well as your main qualification, and you're not eligible for fee remission, these are your course fees. However, these fees are subject to change and will be confirmed at application.
