Catering and Hospitality
Welcome
If you'd love to learn to how work with food or to train in food and drink service/reception our catering and hospitality courses are a perfect choice for you. You'll be taught by qualified teachers and hospitality professionals with lots of experience so you can be sure what you'll be learning will be relevant and they're really firendly and supportive too. You can be sure to get the skills you'll need for the job you want.
This year our students have been on visits to Chatsworth House, The Trafford Centre, had a guest speaker from Glenagles, Concord Hotels, and from local businesses. Speakers gave demonstrations in our demonstration lecturer theatre, and students have also been able to hear from the Stilton Cheese Association in a guest lecturer attended earlier in the year.
Hospitality and Catering students are able to take part in work placement opportunities as part of the course. BTEC students have been able to work in Gleneagles, Bolton Abbey, The Lowry in Manchester and The Lakeside in the Lake District, giving each and every one valuable experience of the industry.

We have excellent contacts which means that you'll be able to go on valuable work placements as part of your course to build up your experience and really put the theory you've learned into practice. You'll be taught in our fantastic training kitchens and we've got our very own Dome Fine Dining Restaurant where you'll get real hands-on experience. Depending on the course you take you could also enter national competitions and visit exciting industry events.
You can move on to university afterwards
You'll have the option afterwards to move on to university to improve your career prospects with a degree.
