What does this course offer me?
- It's your opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of business in a lively, realistic and
practical way. - You'll be taught by experienced,supportive and friendly staff.
- There's a choice of three qualifications:
Subsidiary Diploma (six units), Diploma (12 units) and Extended Diploma
(18 units).
Tell me about the course in general
You will carry out research into business practices, complete exercises and projects,
listen to talks from experienced business people and go on study visits to see how different businesses operate.
You will take these units:
- The Business Environment
- Business Resources
- Introduction to Marketing
- Business Communication.
Other units you'll study may include:
- Business Accounting
- Understanding Retailing
- Creative Product Promotion
- Aspects of Contract and Business Law
- Managing a Business Event
- Human Resource Management
- Website Design Strategy
- Starting a Small Business.
You'll attend College three days each week and have two study days.
You may need to pay for specialist materials associated with your course.
What qualifications will I get?
Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English, plus one of the following:
- BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Business
- BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business
- BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business.
What can I go on to next?
You could go on to a degree, HND or professional training. Alternatively, you
could become self employed or find a job in a wide variety of areas, including
accounting, administration, banking, business management, human resource

How will I be assessed?
All your work will be assessed through coursework, so there will be no exams.
