Tell me about the course in general
This course will give you a qualification in spa therapies. You'll gain valuable experience by working in our on site spa.
You have to take eight units including:
- Two business units
- Body Massage
- Stone Therapy
- Sauna Steam
- Body wrapping and flotation units
- Facial Electrics
- Indian Head Massage.
You may need to pay for specialist materials associated with this course.
What qualifications will I get?
NVQ Level 3 Spa Therapy, plus Functional Skills or Key Skills qualifications in Maths and English
What can I go on to next?
You can move on to the Foundation Degree in Spa (Management/Therapies) here at the University of Derby Buxton.
How will I be assessed?
You'll be continually assessed using a range of methods, including practical observations, oral questions, written assessments and assignments.
Length
For the full time NVQ course: One year of full time study, with a combination of theoretical and practical classes
For the Advanced Apprenticeship: 15 months of study, working in a salon combined with one day a week in College.
