What does this course offer me?

  • You'll gain valuable experience working in our on site commercial salons and spa.
  • You'll be taught by helpful and enthusiastic staff,who have a wide range of experience in this industry.

Tell me about the course in general

This course will encourage you to develop basic beauty therapy skills.

It is made up of three salon operational units, as well as these seven technical units:

  • Provide Facial Skin Care Treatments
  • Enhance the Appearance of Eyebrows and Eyelashes
  • Carry out Waxing Services
  • Provide Manicure Services
  • Provide Pedicure Services
  • Provide Make-up Services
  • Assist with Spa Operations.

You may need to pay for specialist materials associated with this course.

What qualifications will I get?

NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy, plus Functional Skills qaulifications in Maths and English.

What can I go on to next?

You will be interviewed about moving on to the level 3 course, which you can either take as a full time NVQ or an advanced apprenticeship.

How will I be assessed?

You'll be continually assessed using a variety of methods, including practical observations, oral questions, written assessments and assignments.

One year of full time study, with a combination of theory and practical classes in our commercial salons

What do I need to join the course?

GCSE grade C in English and two grade Cs in other subjects, or Pathway 2 Progression: Level 1 Diploma in Vocational Studies (see page 36)
