The National Apprenticeship Week held from the 6 - 10 February 2012 at Buxton College was a great success.

Our activities during the week celebrated the fifth annual National Apprenticeship Week making a positive impact on individuals and businesses.

Events during the week included a hair compeition, an event which celebrated our successes in catering, health and social care and education and childcare, as well as employer events and an open evening.

Wednesday 8 February saw the launch of our 100 in 100 campaign, which is supported by the Buxton Advertiser. The campaign aims to recruit 100 Apprentices in 100 days.

Apprentices in Business

Simon Waugh, Chief Executive of the National Apprenticeship Service, says "Apprenticeships provide businesses with a significant return on investment by increasing productivity and introducing fresh new talent and innovation to organisations. National Apprenticeship Week is a time to celebrate and highlight these successes."

Changes to the Apprenticeship framework mean that apprenticeships are about teaching and learning new skills and commitment from both businesses and apprentices to bring further added value to both employer and employee.

Employers can now obtain a Grant for Funding. Our employer engagement team will help you to obtain this funding, for more information please call 01332 594455.
